She thinks no one sees her.
But I do.
I see the way her hands tremble when she locks the door twice.
The way she pretends she’s strong — brave, untouchable.
But I know better.
She’s soft. Fractured. Beautiful in her loneliness.
She laughs with others, but not like she used to.
She’s quieter now.
Almost like she knows I’m near.
I don’t want to scare her.
Not really.
I just want to be close.
Closer than anyone has ever been.
Soon, she’ll understand.
Why I watch.
Why I wait.
Why she belongs to me.

Hey li'l bird ,
You look lovely in blue .
But I liked the black better.
You were alone last night. You shouldn't be.
Not when the balcony door was unlocked.
